Cookies and I'm back in town

Hey everyone, I'm back. I haven't written something in so long and I must apologise. There's no particular reason for my laziness other that I'm pretty lazy. Tomas was here for a month, but that's no excuse. I've also been putting off learning my Lithuanian. This is a bad idea because I want to be good enough to hold a basic conversation with Tomas' mum in Summer. I need to get going, get some motivation and get doing things. I've got some cool links and interesting things to share with you in the coming days...so look forward to that. I also need to get letter writing: to Asta, to Kiran, to Peter, to Laura and anyone else who needs something nice posted to them.

Something also to look forward to: blog redesign. It's been discussed for a long time. The colours of my blog are bugging me slightly and I want to get a delicious feed and twitter feed going amongst other things.

Just made some chocolate chip cookies. Here's the recipe. They're so easy to make and guarenteed to turn out great.

Ingredients:
115g butter (unsalted)
50g normal granulated sugar
70g brown sugar
a few drops of vanilla extract/essence
1 egg (beaten)
160g plain flour
quarter teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
lots of chocolate chips/chocolate cut into chunks/whatever you want to add really

So mix the butter and sugars together until they are light and fluffy (be patient here if you are not using an electric mixer). Next add and mix in the beaten egg and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mix. Add the egg slowly so the mix doesn't curdle. Then add the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix again until it all comes together as a dough. Mix in your chocolate. Scoop tablespoon amounts of the dough onto a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper. It should make 12 large cookies. Bake for about 10 minutes (i.e. until they look like cookies) at 200 degrees. If you like them chewy, eat them as soon as they come out of the oven!
